 Michael O’Shea was
born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. After many years of being a
successful offensive lineman, he had an unfortunately career-ending injury
in college. His subsequent surgery and rehabilitation gave him a desire to
embark on a career in Sports Medicine. He has a B.S. in Kinesiology, with an
emphasis in Athletic Training from CSU Sacramento.
After graduating from CSU, Sacramento, and becoming a Certified Athletic
Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association, he took his
first athletic training job with the men’s professional indoor soccer team,
the Sacramento Knights. After the Knights won the WISL World Championship,
Michael joined the athletic training staff for the NBA Sacramento Kings for
three seasons. For two of those seasons, he split time between the Kings
athletic training staff and being the Head Athletic Trainer for Sheldon High
School. During this time, he also earned his Master of Science in
Kinesiology, emphasis in Sports Performance from CSU, Sacramento, as well.
Michael has been an Athletic Trainer in all levels of sport, including
High School, Junior College, Four-year University, and Professional. He is a
recognized Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers
Association, and also certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. |
