 Martin C. Yee, MD
Is a lifelong devotee of sports and exercise, and has devoted his career to
understanding the effect of regular physical activity upon health and human
disease.
After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology,
Dr. Yee went on to study the role of exercise in the prevention of disease
at the Stanford Center for Preventive Research. He then attended the
University of California, Davis, where he completed a Masters of Science in
Exercise Science, before receiving his M.D. from the University of Texas
Medical School at San Antonio. He returned to UC Davis to complete a
residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine and received his board
certification in Internal Medicine in 1997.
Besides running a busy Internal Medicine practice, Dr. Yee serves as
Medical Director for the Apple Computer, Inc. on-site Preventive Care
Program. Additionally, he is the Medical Director of the Center for Health
and Weight Management, a medical supervised weight loss program. Dr. Yee is
committed to battling the obesity epidemic by promoting health weight loss
built on sound, evidenced-based methods that fit practically into peoples’
lives. His hospital affiliation is O’Connor Hospital, where he is a past
Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He is an active member of the
American College of Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Yee understands the benefits of regular exercise and a healthy diet
and practices the behaviors he recommends to his patients. He runs and bikes
regularly and he and his wife stay busy raising his active family. |
